The Client Experience

When you book a session with me, I want you to enjoy your session and have a stress free experience. There are a few things I want to share with you for a successful photo session. I am going to walk you through what to expect when you get your pictures taken by me.

It's All About The Connection

I like to start my sessions out with those wonderful "posey" pictures where everyone smiles to print for grandma and grandpa. But for the majority of our session, I do not direct anyone in a certain way. We will focus on the connection. Filling out the questionnaire I have is important for me to get to know you. I will give you prompts and ideas, but I love seeing everyone interacting with each other and not paying any attention to the camera. We will snuggle, we will tickle, we will laugh. If you have children, I am incredibly patient and you will never see me get frustrated with them because I do not expect them to behave in a certain way. Enjoy the moment.

I would love to help you out with your outfits! I encourage Mom to figure out her outfit first. It is usually easier for Mom to pick out clothes for everyone else, but not know what to wear for themselves. Figure out your wardrobe first and then start with everyone else. I know dressing up seems overwhelming, but it is worth it.

A few tips for clothing: instead of having everyone dress in the same color, try using a color palette instead. Consider layering your clothes with textures such as lace, fur or wool. Other family members can wear patterns such as stripes or florals, as long as it matches the color palette. Try to avoid neons or bright colors; They do not match my editing style.

Please contact me if you have any questions about wardrobe and I will send you my style guide.
